Shore program 12th August: Great atmosphere, drinks, food, music and a peek into the unknown Baltic Sea

A traditional and joyous after-sail party with the prize award ceremony belongs to the essentials of the Viaporin Tuoppi. 

Suomenlinna Brewery’s bar is open from 12:00pm to midnight. On offer is beer, wine and the popular nettle long drink.

The five-star MOGS Soup&Kitchen serves food from 1:00 pm. On offer are delicious sailor’s stew options in both meat and vegetable versions. The kitchen is open as long as there is enough to sell.

Sailor songs by Olli Iivonen, Osmo Palonen and Singella’s “Meripoikii ja flikoi” will welcome the sailors landing in Varvilahti at 1:30–2:15 pm and 2:45–3:30 pm.

Dj Bunuel’s music from 15:30 to 18:00.

John Nurminen Foundation’s “The Unknown Baltic Sea” exhibition at Suomenlinna Levyhalli is open exceptionally until 18:00. White pebbles from Suomenlinan Pursiseura will lead the way to the exhibition. The place can also be found on the map at the address Suomenlinna B5.

From 18:00 to 18:30 Lauri Kaira and the moderators of the Suomenlinna Pursiseura peek into the unknown Baltic Sea from the perspective of the past. The discussion event will be organized on the shore by Suomenlinnan Pursiseura in cooperation with the John Nurminen Foundation.

The award ceremony starts approx. at 7:30 pm. The after sail party and great atmosphere will continue well into the night.

After the award ceremony a local band, Suomelinnan Suolakurkut, will take the stage at around 8:30pm.
